Do you repair fences you did not install?

Yes. Most of our repair work is on fences built by someone else. We do not need to have built it to fix it.

What does a fence repair cost?

It depends on what failed, how many sections are affected and what material the fence is. Replacing one wood post is a different job from resetting twenty. We come out, look at it and give you a written estimate at no charge, so you get a real number instead of a guess over the phone.

How do I know whether to repair or replace my fence?

Look at the posts first. If the posts are solid and only the pickets, panels or chain link fabric have failed, repair is usually the better value. If posts are rotted or loose along most of the run, or more than about a third of the fence is damaged, replacement usually costs less over the life of the fence. We will give you our read on it during the estimate.

What should I look for when choosing a fence repair company?

Four things. Ask whether they will come out and look at the fence before quoting a number. Ask whether they install the same material they are repairing, because a company that only installs will not stock repair parts. Ask what happens if the repair fails, and get the guarantee in writing. Ask whether they haul away the old material or leave it in your yard.
